Sahel Consulting Agriculture and Nutrition Limited is a leading management consulting firm focused on the agriculture and nutrition sectors in Africa. Working on livelihood program Advancing Local Dairy Development in Nigeria, ALDDN. A program funded by the BMGF, aimed at catalyzing the dairy sector of Nigeria through a backward integration model and improve the livelihood of the actors at the below the pyramid level. Duties include: Project Management: Coordinate Implementation of multiple interrelatedprojects to achieve program objective. Farmers Organization: Identify and integrate dairy farmers into the program. More than 4,200 dairy farmers (>50% female) were enrolled, and organized into Self-Help Groups. Multi-stakeholder Engagement: Manage activities of project implementation partners like Livestock 247, Technoserve, Processor, and State Government. Productivity Improvement Strategy Implementation: Faciitate trainings of the integrated Self Help Groups on 14 modules Good Dairy Practices and Nutrition Education. Monitor treatment of animals, and sensitization of the farmers by the animal health service provider (L247), and Facilitate cultivation of over 60 hectares feed and fodder for the integrated SHGsto ensure all year round feed availability. Policy Advocacy: Drive the implementation of Gender ncusion, Financial Inclusion and Income Generating/Diversification Activities to improve the livelihood of the SHG members,using the VSLA model to drive participation. Reporting:Prepare presentations, reports and technica –conceptual inputs.
