I'd like to connect & collaborate with changemakers around the globe working in the area of education & livelihoods
I wanted to join the network to connect with more people in the sectory from the part of the world I live in. But, Chennai hardly has any active Catalyst members so there isnt much one gets to gain.
I am excited about the prospect of collaborating with individuals and organizations in the impact sector to deepen my understanding of catalytic solutions. Additionally, I look forward to engaging with social enterprises and business leaders to build partnerships, particularly in areas of financial inclusion, skill development, and climate change.
To put very simply, "to recharge to do more". Ever since I became a member of Catalsy2030, I have come across some amazing souls and have brushed off their energy and enthusiasm for the work we do. I regularly attend the GA and wish to volunteer and contribute more.

The HimGra initiative of DESCATUK aligns closely with the goals and priorities of Catalyst 2030, a global movement aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Here's how:
1. Promoting Sustainable Development
HimGra's core mission directly contributes to sustainable development through:
Environmental Conservation: HimGra fiber is grown on rainfed lands without fertilizers and pesticides, reducing water usage and soil degradation. Its waterless mechanical fiber processing technology further minimizes environmental impact.
Climate Action (SDG 13): By offering an alternative to conventional polluting fibers, HimGra reduces the carbon footprint of the textile industry.
2. Empowering Rural Communities
HimGra supports livelihoods in rural hill areas of Uttarakhand by:
Creating Employment: Each fabric made from HimGra benefits women in rural areas and handloom weavers.
Strengthening Local Economies (SDG 8): By investing in local communities, HimGra creates resilient economies, combating the adverse effects of fast fashion and global warming.
3. Innovative Solutions for Systemic Change
HimGra is an example of grassroots innovation addressing systemic challenges in the fashion and textile industry:
Innovation in Materials (SDG 9): HimGra's patented, sustainable processing methods and its ability to blend with conventional fibers make it scalable and competitive.
Collaboration with Impact Leaders: Validated by IIT Mandi Catalyst, Fashion for Good, and IRMA-Iseed, and supported by the Government of Uttarakhand, HimGra exemplifies collaborative, impact-driven innovation.
4. Advancing Ethical Fashion for luxury
HimGra challenges the status quo of fast fashion by promoting sustainable and ethical luxury fashion, contributing to:
Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12): It emphasizes traceability and sustainable practices in the entire value chain.
Social Impact: By involving SHG groups and addressing the challenges of marginalized communities, HimGra ensures inclusivity and equitable growth.
5. Global Collaboration Potential
HimGra resonates with Catalyst 2030’s emphasis on partnerships for systemic change (SDG 17):
Cross-Sector Collaboration: DESCATUK works with academic institutions, brands, rural communities, and policymakers.
Impact Validation: Partnerships with J-PAL South Asia for impact validation and recognition by global platforms make it a strong contender for international support and scalability.
6. Catalyzing Change in Fashion
HimGra addresses the fashion industry's contribution to environmental and social crises through a holistic approach that supports Catalyst 2030’s vision of creating a sustainable and equitable world by 2030.
In summary, HimGra reflects Catalyst 2030's values by combining innovation, community empowerment, and environmental stewardship to transform the fashion industry while addressing critical global challenges. This makes it a highly relevant and impactful initiative for the movement.
I hope to connect with like minded people and also find similar organisations from around the world. To learn from them as well as share my experiences and learnings with them.

I deeply believe that only when we really listen to each other, learn from each other and work together to address the most complex and pressing problems in the world, can we really bring about any transformative change! Catalyst is bringing together some of the most innovative, pro-active and resilient leaders together. I want to learn from them and add value wherever I can.

cross learning from the organizations across the globe and accelerate the impact
Catalyst 2030 is a movement that brings people working towards SDG goals together to accelerate the impact . Having worked in the space of education and performing arts in the last 10 years, I believe performing art forms have a great impact in being the carriers of messaging in an effective manner. Performing arts as standalone has its own charm and impact, however , when blended with specific goals and imagination of impact , it becomes a channel to reach many people in many formats that touch them instantly . We are on a mission to use our traditional artforms in the true essence of the purpose of performing artforms, for us being in a network of organizations like Catalyst 2030 , gives an exposure to individuals and organizations doing great work. This will help us collaborate , learn and apply to performing artforms. Performing arts in India as a sector has limited opportunities of exposure of people working outside of the art forms. These forums will help us and the artists to push our boundaries , blend in and make meaningful art productions.

Our mission is to help organisations to drive sustainable impact at scale through system-led approach. We support organizations working across UNSDGs 2030. Our team has hands-on experience working with Union and state governments, policy makers and NGOs leadership and, bring very rich experience of what it takes to drive sustainable impact at scale through a system led approach.
Our engagement objective with Catalyst 2030 could be primarily of two fold- 1. We can share our experience with the community members and help organisations working in system change space to sharpen their model, delivery and experience and, 2. We can learn from rich and wide community of members about their work and explore the points of mutual synergy to broaden our knowledge base and outreach.

My motivation to join Catalyst is to play a role, in trying to make a difference to peoples lives by getting our educational & learning product to reach as many children & curious minds as possible - across the globe. We want to special attention to the marginalized parts of the society whose growth is restricted by the limited means of living that people have. We believe that Education & Learning is the only way 'thinking' can change and only when that happens - will we will begin to see changes within us and around us - which can then lead to a better life. The idea is to inspire children and the curious minds to think - by acquiring knowledge and information and we want to reach as many of them as possible.
