1 Million Asmaas
Description
1 Million Asmaas is a movement creating a generation of youth who love and respect books, while fostering social responsibility, civic engagement, and psycho-social well-being. Our aim is to establish a library in every neighborhood around the globe. Imagine a world with 1 million trained local volunteers, reading books for fun to children in their neighborhoods. An army of change-makers creating a generation of youth and children who enjoy and respect books and foster social responsibility, civic engagement and enhanced psycho-social well-being through the establishment of a library in every neighborhood in the world. By joining this collaboration you can implement the "We Love Reading" training into your programming and show the story of the We Love Reading ambassador: Asmaa Rashed in the multi-award winning film The Neighborhood Storyteller to engage your audience. Together, let’s make this dream a reality. 1 Million Asmaas aims to increase the number of We Love Reading (WLR) ambassadors. Organizations can implement the We Love Reading training into their programming and engage their audience with the inspiring story of Asmaa Rashed portrayed in the award-winning film “The Neighborhood Storyteller”. Educators and activists can also use the film to promote the WLR training with their communities. All for free to organizations and individuals who agree to join this initiative. The site centralizes resources and enables potential partners to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and license agreement to start using the film and training.
