The Elders Council for Social Entrepreneurs

Learn more

Description

The Elders Council for Social Entrepreneurs creates a global network where seasoned entrepreneurs share their wisdom, tackle challenges like succession, financial planning, and identity shifts, and support the next generation of change-makers. The Elders Council for Social Entrepreneurs is building a supportive global network of social entrepreneurs where hard-won wisdom can be shared with one another and with those following in their footsteps. It is vital that ‘elders’ in this field share the experience, knowledge and wisdom they have cultivated over the years, as well as gaining support as they move through new stages in their career. The challenges they face can include succession or transition planning, financial provision for later life, a crisis of identity once they leave their organisation or the potential for mission drift within their organisation. Our aims are to build a supportive network of social entrepreneurs and change makers across the ecosystem, sharing the wisdom of elder Social Entrepreneurs to benefit each generation to come.

The Jena Declaration

Learn more

Description

The Jena Declaration invites local sustainable change, mobilizing people globally for impactful outcomes. By assembling diverse signatories to encourage communities and governments to actively drive change in favor of sustainability. The UN Agenda 2030 with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is under a lot of pressure. Most experts share the view that humanity is on the way to miss it. The Jena Declaration is based on the conviction that the most important reason for this is, that the currently dominating strategy from the top is not reaching the most important partner for the needed societal transformation: the everyday people, the citizens of the planet. To reach them, The Jena Declaration calls for a new strategy to reach ways of living sustainably everywhere. Respecting cultural and regional specificity and aesthetics for dealing with nature, of nature that we are all part of, shall enable culturally and regionally differentiated pathways towards global sustainability. Integrating the arts and sciences can foster creativity and innovation, leading to sustainable solutions that resonate emotionally and intellectually with people. This holistic approach can inspire communities to engage with sustainability in a way that feels meaningful and joyful. By blending artistic expression with scientific knowledge, we can create a future that not only meets our needs but also nurtures our spirit and connection to the planet. Everyone is invited to join as a signatory here: https://www.thejenadeclaration.org/sign "In times of growing nationalism, there is no alternative to united, coordinated action in a global perspective of the citizens of the planet to ensure a sustainable futures!"
