Ignis careers is a social enterprise promoting innovative and affordable life skills, English, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programs in schools. In the last 10 years, Ignis has worked with about 364,000 learners and about 14,000 teachers in about 1100 low-cost private schools, government schools, and colleges & universities in across multiple locations in India. Ignis has also been working with the children of remote tribal communities, in conflict-affected areas of central India, all with the support of qualified professionals. Research and Capacity Building Support for Non-profits 3. Livelihood & employability programs for youth The Life Skills for Girls Program integrates 14 core skills with English skills, targeting young adults and adolescents. This was developed after extensive research. Ignis has been partnering with Unitedway of Hyderabad, and Delhi, Deshpande Foundation, Educate Girls and eVidyaloka. We implement educational programs for these non-profits. Ignis also designs and develops learning programs to address the specific needs of these organizations. We integrate gender justice, ecological sustainability and basic rights through our activities. At the core of Ignis Careers Private Limited is a specialised research team that constantly adapts and develops learning programs that are participatory, age appropriate and culturally relevant. Ignis programs are always developed based on the learning needs of the learners. Being a social enterprise (registered as a Pvt Ltd company), Ignis has to implement impactful programs as it directly effects their bottom line (net income). Ignis, strives to design affordable programs that cater to the needs of the learners from under-served communities. Being a social enterprise we optimise our resources and costs while optimising our impact. All our learners come from families that earn less than $5 a day and Ignis specializes in addressing their learning needs, sensitive to their social and cultural realities. Being a social enterprise registered as a Pvt. Ltd Company, Ignis offers its services as a response to market demand, especially with low-cost private schools and other educational instutions catering to under-served communities. This keeps our service impactful delivery and model accountable, and reliable. We diligently carry out impact studies and document them systematically, as the impact studies are the basis on which we are paid and thus is a key deliverable for every program. Also being a social enterprise that survives on customer perception and utility, Ignis constantly upgrades the learning programs and has a team continuously innovating and doing research.
