Oxus Global Impact CIC

I am Director of Programming and Data Management at the University of Oxford, Founder of Oxus Academy, and a DPhil student at the University of Oxford, researching automation and semantic interoperability in complex systems. Oxus Academy was established in direct response to the collapse of Afghanistan’s national education infrastructure. We aim to provide decentralised, resilient, and secure learning opportunities, particularly for women and girls who are excluded from formal schooling under the current regime. We launched our pilot in 2021 with 45 students and five teachers across four provinces. Today, Oxus Academy operates a multilingual, low-bandwidth digital platform designed specifically for high-risk, low-resource environments. We align our curriculum with international standards and continuously shape it based on local insight and user feedback. Our mission is to close the education gap through innovation, equity, and care. Our vision is to ensure access to quality, internationally accredited education for Afghans worldwide, with a long-term ambition to become a global leader in online learning for conflict-affected contexts. We believe education is foundational to dignity, agency, and long-term development. Oxus exists to ensure no learner is left behind—regardless of gender, geography, or political circumstance.
