The University of Ibagué

The University of Ibagué's mission is to promote the comprehensive education of leaders and entrepreneurs with a solid scientific and professional foundation, deeply rooted ethical and moral principles, and a commitment to regional social, cultural, and economic development. It will foster professional training, regardless of race, nationality, or gender, that seeks the integral development of the human being and contributes to the sustainable use of the region's natural resources and the general well-being of the community. The University of Ibagué views higher education as a strategy and an opportunity for personal improvement and fulfillment for those who will participate in the transformation of their environment for the benefit of the regional community and society at large. The University of Ibagué aims to recover essential human values, strengthen democracy, respect human rights, promote equity and justice, and affirm regional and national identity. In implementing its programs, the University will consider the current level of regional development, its future projections, and, preferentially, the needs of the regional community, businesses, and organizations, taking into account the country's requirements for economic, social, and cultural progress.
