Citizen Bureau for Development and Productivity (CBDP)

The CBDP led the formation & implementation of "Detainees Justice Action Collab" having won a Catalytic Grant in the amount of EUROS 10,000, to advance evidence base advocacy with the competent authorities in the cause of Pre-trial detainees in Liberia. Previously, the CBDP established Community Justice Teams and worked with citizens and the formal justice system to mediate disputes in low-income communities given that most people cannot afford to settle disputes using the formal system. In my role as Founder & Executive Director, I had the opportunity to serve as a consultant for Enhancing Africa Response to Transnational Organized Crime (ENACT) project implemented by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and partners. The project researched the role of youth gangs in illicit economies in Liberia, identifying four stakeholders group including Youth Gangs, Affected Communities, Government Officials and Think Tank. It examines the extent to which illicit economies influence the growth, modus operandi, and sustenance of youth gangs in Liberia. My responsibility as a consultant was to identify and conduct 30 key informants’ interviews, 3 Focus Group Discussions including pre-arranged meetings over 6 days period with the researchers from (ISS) and provided transcripts of the interviews, as well as, recordings where applicable.

I look forward to contributing my time and knowledge in peace building and the rule of law with the aim to learn from other perspectives and in their areas of concentrations hoping that together we can unleash our collective potential for systemic change.
