Youth Alliance for Environment (YAE)
Youth Alliance for Environment (YAE) is a non-profit and non-governmental independent organisation working in the environmental sector for the conservation and management of environmental resources. Established with a vision of fostering ecological sustainability, YAE has been actively contributing to the field by implementing various activities and programs that aim to address pressing environmental issues.
Our thematic areas of work include Environmental Management, Water Resource, Forestry and Biodiversity, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management. Under each theme, YAE works on Capacity building, Policy Advocacy, Research and Innovation and Livelihood promotion. These thematic areas are interconnected and are approached holistically to ensure sustainable and impactful outcomes. Through these pillars of intervention, YAE strengthens institutional capacity, informs policy dialogues, generates innovative solutions, and promotes alternative livelihood practices that are environmentally sound.
YAE is registered under the rules and regulations of the Government of Nepal and is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council. It operates in compliance with national laws and maintains a high standard of governance and accountability. YAE follows a democratic process, participatory approach, gender-sensitive style, and transparent and responsive behaviour at all levels of decision-making and organization operations. All stakeholders, including staff, partners, and beneficiaries, are encouraged to actively engage in the decision-making processes, ensuring inclusivity and ownership of the initiatives undertaken. YAE is the alliance where the young and enthusiastic environmentalists, specialised in different environmental sectors, are working together for environmental sustainability. This vibrant team of young professionals brings expertise, energy, and commitment to address the complex challenges of environmental conservation.
YAE encompasses unique organizational culture and articulates internalized core values on mutual respect, working for the deprived and vulnerable, creation and innovations, quality and best practices, and non-party politics.
