Five Trails Africa NPC

Five Trails Africa NPC is an award winning non-profit organisation (Winner of the The Beacon for Sustainable Living, Good Living 2050 Submission for Sustainable Futures). We are passionate about people finding purpose and meaning in their lives and the importance of building sustainable futures through connections, capacity building, conversations and opportunity development. Our flagship programme Ecopreneurs helps communities grow resilience and sustainability through starting green and blue economy businesses that are good for the environment. We have also developed over the last three years a very successful and well subscribed online academy (http://activateacademy.org.za) with over 30,000 registered students, growing their capacity to succeed in life. Ecopreneurs is a platform designed to address the following challenges: • How do you grow capacity in young people to be sustainability leaders, custodians of a better future for our environment and for themselves? • How do you reconnect young people to the environment especially if they live in spaces that are removed from the natural world? • How do you enable young people to realise the serious nature of the challenges we are facing with respect to global warming, climate change, food security, species extinctions as well as the importance of the connections that exists in keeping our natural balance in play? • How do you inspire young people to get involved, take action, connect, engage and see impact around environmental issues? • How do you open opportunities for young people to grow projects and careers across the green and blue economies? • How do you keep these young people connected to each other and to the issues? • How do you create real pathways to career opportunities through partnerships?
