espaço agora now is an artist-led movement that is reimagining artist development and public experimentation in the performing arts. Our central goal is essential and powerful: to create a global network of artist-led spaces for radical imagination and the new ideas we need now. Our spaces provide vital time and space residencies for artists from all the performance disciplines and catalyse fresh connections between artists, local citizens and public action. At the heart of the project is our belief that we need new ways to come together. Space for calm questioning, deep listening, experimentation, new imaginaries, building civic tissue. The name agora now takes its impetus from both the ancient Greek concept of agora - a space to meet - and because in modern Portuguese agora means now.
