Independent (Pirah Siyal)

I am Pirah Siyal, an environmental chemist and climate advocate from Pakistan with expertise in environmental chemistry, nanotechnology, and sustainable development. My professional journey is driven by a passion for environmental protection and a commitment to addressing the pressing challenges of climate change, pollution, and sustainability. I hold a Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, specializing in environmental analysis and nanotechnology, which has enabled me to integrate scientific innovation into practical solutions for complex environmental issues. Currently, I serve as a Chemist (BPS-17) at the Environment, Climate Change & Coastal Development Department, Government of Sindh, Pakistan. My work primarily focuses on environmental monitoring, pollution control, and water quality analysis. Through my role, I contribute to safeguarding public health and protecting ecosystems by developing and implementing evidence-based policies. Previously, I worked as an analyst at the Sindh Environment Protection Agency, where I focused on hospital waste management, water pollution analysis in high-risk areas, and wastewater treatment for industrial effluents. This experience deepened my understanding of the intricate relationship between environmental health and community well-being. My professional endeavors extend beyond technical work, as I am also deeply engaged in education and advocacy. I have delivered numerous sessions on climate change, environmental protection, and water conservation, aiming to empower individuals and communities with knowledge to take meaningful action. Leveraging my networks with organizations such as Liquid Tree, Climate Solution International, and Environment Key Global, I have facilitated impactful dialogues that inspire collaboration and drive change. As a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and Trainer, I integrate technology into my efforts, utilizing digital platforms to raise awareness and foster participation. I believe in the power of education and collaboration to create resilient communities that can adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change. My work is guided by a strong belief in inclusivity and equity, ensuring that vulnerable and underrepresented groups have a voice in environmental decision-making processes. My mission is to promote environmental sustainability, public health, and ecosystem protection through a blend of education, research, and policy implementation. I am committed to inspiring collective efforts to address environmental challenges and create a sustainable future for all. My vision is to see a world where communities embrace sustainable practices, resilience against climate change is strengthened, and the planet’s natural resources are preserved for generations to come. Through collaboration, innovation, and persistent advocacy, I aim to contribute to building a healthier, more sustainable, and equitable world.
