Navya Disha

Navya Disha is a registered Public Charitable Trust, established in 2005, dedicated to empowering underserved rural and urban poor communities. With its head office in Bengaluru, the organization operates across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh, focusing on addressing the core challenges faced by these communities. Its initiatives span key areas such as education, health and hygiene, water and sanitation, women empowerment, and climate change. Recently, Navya Disha has also launched a pilot program to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among youth. Navya Disha's origins lie in the work of Grameen Koota, a micro-credit financing institution founded in 1999 that has positively impacted over a million customers. Building on this foundation, Navya Disha was created as an independent organization focused on broader empowerment interventions. Through the Yuva Udyami program in Tumkur, Karnataka, Navya Disha supports entrepreneurship development by providing training, incubation, funding access, business services, and mentoring to youth. Through strategic partnerships and local ecosystem building, the program aims to create sustainable employment and business opportunities. In addition to entrepreneurship initiatives, Navya Disha is working on setting up a community college to equip youth aged 18 to 25 from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with essential skills for employment and entrepreneurship. Their life skills program, Sushikshana, focuses on high school students in government and aided schools, aiming to empower them to become lifelong learners, make informed decisions, and lead healthy, productive lives.
