KANDHAMAL ZILLA SABUJA VAIDYA SANGATHAN

About Organization: Kandhamal Zilla Sabuja Vaidya Sangathan (KZSVS) is a secular, non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization working in Odisha, India since 2004. Initially focused on generating awareness about medicinal plants and herbal medicine, KZSVS aimed to rejuvenate the use of herbal and medicinal plants, providing affordable healthcare to tribal communities. Presently, KZSVS has identified 100 traditional healers in Daringbadi Block, working towards strengthening the Vaidyas Forum in the district. Expanding its scope, KZSVS strives for socio-economic development of marginalized communities in Kandhamal. From a small village to now spanning over 600 villages, KZSVS is a progressive non-profit organization registered under the societies act. With a dedicated mission, KZSVS has been working relentlessly for the past decade, focusing on sustainable livelihoods for the socio-economically disadvantaged, women and child health, hygiene, menstrual issues, and nutritional support. KZSVS has successfully implemented programs like School to School, Cloth for Work, Water and Sanitation management, Natural Resource Management, Biodiversity Conservation, and Disaster preparedness with support from government agencies, including Goonj New Delhi, JDF, DASRA, Vitamin Angels, and other non-governmental aid organizations. The organization actively participates in lobbying and advocacy to address the concerns of vulnerable groups, building networks and alliances at district and state levels. KZSVS has received multiple awards for its impactful work.
