Independent (Julia de Moraes Almeida)

I am a Latin American lawyer, advocate, and international program manager dedicated to transforming systems through collaboration, advocacy, and social justice. As a bisexual woman from Brazil, my mission is to break down barriers for marginalized communities and create solutions that drive equity and sustainability. With a deep commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), I work to amplify voices that have been silenced and to build bridges between diverse sectors—government, business, academia, and civil society. Throughout my career, I have led cross-sector partnerships and international projects focused on human rights, climate justice, gender equality, and social innovation. My work has taken me across continents, from Brazil to Europe, North America, and Latin America, where I have collaborated with global organizations such as Plan International, Conectas Human Rights, and the Lemann Foundation. In these roles, I have been at the forefront of advocacy campaigns, policy design, and project management, always striving to create lasting social impact and foster collaboration at all levels. My vision is to see a world where collaboration between organizations and communities leads to inclusive growth and systemic change. I believe the third sector has a unique and transformative role to play in this process, acting as a bridge between sectors and fostering innovative, community-driven solutions. As a leader, my goal is to inspire others—particularly young women and underrepresented communities—to take active roles in shaping the future. As an international editor at the Cambridge Law Review and an active member of global networks such as Harvard's Afro-Latin American Research Institute (ALARI), I continue to advance my work in research, publications, and international conferences. My most recent contributions include publishing books on climate change, human rights violations, and decolonization, while working closely with communities like Paraisópolis, a favela in São Paulo, to bring attention to the challenges of state violence. At the core of my work is the belief that connections can change the world. Through collaboration, we can accelerate progress on the SDGs, tackle inequality, and foster systemic change. By empowering individuals and communities with the tools they need to succeed, we can create a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world for future generations.

My motivation to join Catalyst 2030 comes from my deep commitment to driving systemic change and creating a more just, equitable world. As a bisexual Latin woman from Brazil, I’ve always been driven by a mission to fight for social justice, especially for marginalized communities in the Global South. I believe that real social change happens when we collaborate across sectors, and Catalyst 2030’s focus on bringing together social entrepreneurs, NGOs, funders, and innovators aligns perfectly with
