Soymas Foundation Inc.
Soymás Foundation is a binational nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty among adolescent mothers and their children through education, mental-health support, and applied research. Founded in 2017 in Santiago, Chile, and incorporated in 2024 in the United States as Soymás Foundation USA, the organization creates sustainable pathways toward autonomy, healing, and opportunity for young families.
In Chile, Soymás operates a flagship campus in La Pintana, one of Santiago’s most vulnerable communities, where more than 400 mothers and children participate each year—and over 2,000 families have been served to date. Its ten-month holistic program combines trauma-informed education, psychological therapy, vocational training, mindfulness, and childcare. The model strengthens family bonds, restores self-confidence, and opens doors to financial independence—73 percent of graduates either continue their studies or obtain formal employment within a year, directly helping to break the cycle of poverty in their households.
Soymás also functions as a living research laboratory, generating data on trauma, ADHD, and resilience among young mothers. In partnership with the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and other academic institutions, it leads a four-year publicly funded study exploring the neurobiological roots of resilience. These findings guide program design and influence public policy on education and social inclusion.
Through Soymás Foundation USA, the organization extends this mission internationally—mobilizing philanthropy, research, and cross-sector collaboration to adapt its model for Latina immigrant communities in the United States and to share evidence-based solutions with partners worldwide.
Soymás envisions a world where every young mother and child can thrive—emotionally, educationally, and economically—supported by systems that value dignity, equity, empathy, and opportunity, and where poverty no longer determines destiny.
