Vision: Empowering the marginalized and unorganized workers through mobilization, capacity building and federating together’ Misssion: To broaden and accelerate the development of down-trodden and underprivileged communities by extending a helping hand towards with knowledge and awareness they need regarding the issues related to their fundamental rights, equality and social dignity WORKS: SUCCESS TRUST trained 213 elected women leaders of village civic councils become capable leaders and sensitized them in gender perspectives and 213 new and upcoming leaders simultaneously. Husbands of elected women leaders were also gender sensitized to support their wives to serve independently without their interference. 450 marginal farmers were trained in sustainable millets cultivation, intercrops and given seeds. 465 marginal farmers were trained in indigenous rice cultivation and crop rotation with horticulture crops. 573 women were given revolving funds to do their income generation activities on revolving funds and ensure their sustained work and income. School going children were given educational needs to support school education. 15000 people, 500 students, were educated on STD, HIV/AIDS infections and prevention methods.40 Peer educators were trained to work as peer educators among students. Seeds bank of drought resilient millets and indigenous rice varieties were created and run by the farmers’ community. SUCCESS TRUST implemented National Environment Awareness Campaigns on tree plantation, rain water harvesting, water and sanitation, soil fertility and soil erosion prevention, among hundreds of women, men, children and general public during these years of existence.15000 tree saplings distributed to farmers, women groups and youth clubs to plant in their backyards, common areas in the villages under environment campaign. 3 deep bore wells and hand pumps were installed to ensure drinking water to 1500 families in 3 villages. SUCCESS Trust in alliance with TB REACH, Akaskya Chennai, District TB prevention society , Pudukkottai district undertook intensive awareness education among 5000 families on TB , its symptoms, treatment methods , cure available, by awareness, sputum collection, 1600 persons tested, confirmation of 45 positive people and took them to treatment and followed up till their cure.
