Independent (Abubakar Danladi Yusuf)

I am a humanitarian and development worker with experience in supporting community-based programs across Northeast and Northwest Nigeria. My work focuses on strengthening service delivery, improving accountability, and generating evidence to inform effective humanitarian and development interventions. I have worked with international and local organizations including Oxford Policy Management, The Khana Group, LifeBank, Plan International partners, and other research and implementation agencies across sectors such as nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, education, protection, and social accountability. My experience spans field coordination, research and data collection, assistanting monitoring and evaluation, logistics support, and community engagement. I have coordinated field teams, supervised enumerators, engaged government stakeholders and community leaders, and supported large-scale assessments including CMAM coverage evaluations, resilience and livelihoods studies, and social impact research. I am particularly committed to ethical data collection, community entry, informed consent, and inclusive approaches that amplify the voices of vulnerable and underserved populations. My mission is to contribute to people-centered development by supporting programs that are evidence-driven, locally grounded, and responsive to community needs. I am motivated by work that strengthens systems, improves access to essential services, and promotes dignity, accountability, and sustainability in humanitarian and development responses. My vision is a future where communities, especially those affected by conflict, poverty, and climate-related shocks are active in shaping solutions that affect their lives. I believe collaboration across sectors, shared learning, and innovation are essential to achieving lasting social impact. Through networks such as Catalyst Now, I seek to connect with like-minded practitioners, contribute practical field insights, and engage in collective efforts that advance inclusive development, social innovation, and systemic change.

I want to contribute to Catalyst Now by sharing my on-the-ground experience in humanitarian and development work across Northern Nigeria. I’ve worked closely with communities, government actors, and NGOs on programs in health, nutrition, food security, protection, and social accountability. I can bring practical insights, examples of what works in the field, and lessons learned from coordinating teams and supporting research and monitoring activities. I hope to join conversations and activities.
