Independent (Nkechi Igwebuike)

My work aims to bridge the gap between grassroots advocacy and policy design, focusing on how technology, specifically artificial intelligence, can reveal and reduce gender bias in governance. I am the conceptual founder of AI for Equality, a civic tech initiative aimed at using AI to promote fair and data-driven policymaking. She combines her background in political science, leadership in gender advocacy, and commitment to social impact to build systems that translate inclusion from ideals into measurable change.

I aim to develop my AI for Equality civic tech to leverage artificial intelligence in reviewing laws and policies, uncovering gender bias, and providing data-driven insights that can shape fairer governance. This will be achieved by intersecting knowledge, technology, and entrepreneurship to foster a regenerative, inclusive economy and long-term community-driven solutions. Through this program, I plan to refine my social innovation and leadership skills, connect with mentors and peers, and learn how to scale solutions that truly advance equality for women and girls globally. I plan to equip myself with advanced skills, a network, and opportunities to build the impact I can have in society as a social innovator. I am sure of my exact trajectory; however, I am not sure how to get there. I aim to be a catalyst for change and drive innovation at the intersection of gender equality, technology, and public policy, utilizing my project management skills to advance initiatives that promote gender and social equality. The potential to meet like-minded peers and mentors to guide this journey and possibly collaborate on building innovative projects is a prime opportunity.
