Beyond Grants: Embracing New Models for Financial Sustainability

African organizations are delivering bold solutions to the continent’s most urgent challenges, yet too often remain tethered to unpredictable funding cycles and external priorities. This session takes on that constraint head-on by advancing concrete models for financial sustainability. We will examine how organizations can transition from dependency to durability through locally anchored capital, catalytic financing instruments, and collaborative ecosystems that reward long-term value creation. More than a discussion, this is a call to reframe capital flows so that African organizations can exercise agency over their financial futures, therefore driving impact on their own terms and strengthening the architecture of sustainable development across the continent.
