Financing Systemic Transformation: Building Collaborative Ecosystems for Change
Financing systemic transformation (FST) is a challenge for both:
People who have money to invest (foundation, impact investors, government)
Social and systems entrepreneurs are trying to create large scale change.
A group of social entrepreneurs, systems change practitioners, funders, and thought leaders, developed with Catalyst Now, called FEST, has been working on this issue for five years. Lessons from three recent prototype studies will be shared about emerging strategies, structures, tools, and processes associated with financing systemic transformation.
The core activity associated with FST is building collaborative ecosystems for FST around particular issues (e.g. community well-being, climate change) and geographies (e.g.: bio-regions, political jurisdictions).
Imagine connected communities where funders, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, and government work together on systemic change, instead of organizations struggling alone to find funding.
