Getting local or ‘frontline’ climate and health reps in government to coordinate

The effect of climate change on human, animal and planetary health is established. Yet, government departments continue to work in silos, and sometimes, in clear opposition to each other instead of connecting the dots between the health of the environment, biodiversity and the health of human beings. It is critical for local governments responsible for vulnerable communities in both urban and rural areas to identify solutions to this impasse and improve coordination and interconnection. The session will therefore bring together communications, advocacy, government and policy experts to identify practical solutions to integrate environmental and human health outcomes for communities at the frontlines of climate change.
