What does radical change look like to you? How can it inform development funding in practice? We explore these questions to become better change agents in redefining development funding. Leaning into radical imagination, this session aims to interrogate the inequitable power structures that persist within contemporary development practices at large.

Speakers representing, funders and researchers will contribute in a reimagination of an equitable and regenerative development paradigm. The session will elevate case studies from their practices that examine the failings of the current funding ecosystem and imaginings of what different systems can look like.

Through real-world examples and storytelling, we will showcase how alternative approaches can foster deeper collaboration, shift power from donors to communities, and create a more equitable and effective funding ecosystem.
Participants will walk away with deeper understandings of radical and paradigm shifts, as well as an invitation to continue exploring what transformation looks like in their own contexts.

As such, this workshop is tailored for practitioners seeking to radically change the way we do and fund development initiatives. Come and expand your understanding of “shifting power from donors to communities” from concept to practice. Share your learning and insights on the redistribution of power and resources; the reclaiming of narratives, ownership, and expertise; the reorientation of the vision, values, and purpose of global development practice.
