Saamuhika Shakti is a collective impact initiative in Bengaluru, India, where 9 organisations and an independent backbone have joined forces to enable informal waste pickers to have greater agency to lead secure and dignified lives. Initiated and funded by H&M Foundation.

Partners co-create and design interventions with the waste picker community, focusing on areas that waste pickers identified as the cause of their intergenerational poverty and marginalisation. In a 60-minute panel discussion, local stakeholders will cover:

– Community: Involving waste pickers in the change process
– Power: Collectivising to empower women to run businesses and manage waste centres
– Mindsets: Changing narratives among citizens of waste pickers, waste picking
