This Conversation Café explores what it means to tell stories ethically, especially when representing marginalized or underrepresented communities. With Amina Mohamed from Cameras For Girls, we’ll examine questions of authorship, agency, and responsibility in shaping narratives. Moving beyond extractive or trauma-centered models, we’ll consider how stories can affirm dignity and empowerment, and what role media, photography, and nonprofit messaging play in this shift. Through reflection and dialogue, participants will explore how to approach storytelling with consent, collaboration, and cultural understanding at the center.
