Peace begins within 🕊️
Author(s): MIENDJIEM KEMO Hilary Ségolène
Voices Unbroken follows how the YAD in Quetta supports Afghan refugee and host community children through trauma-informed art, play, and music therapy. By creating healing rooms in schools, led by local therapists and educators, the project helps children express trauma, rebuild resilience, and restore joy, showing that creative safe spaces can spark healing, inclusion, and peace.
This microfilm was created using documentary-style digital filmmaking, combining observational footage, interviews, and live recording of trauma-informed art, play, and music therapy sessions. So, it is a mixture of spoken words in a video. Talking about how inner peace could lead to a peaceful world. It raises awareness too about what is happening around us ( wars, terrorism, Hostilities). Encouraging them to change what they can and make peace with what they cannot, so that there will be no envy, no jealousy, just love, kindness, and peace.
