Advancing Autism Family Support Organization (AAFSO)

Advancing Autism Family Support Organization is a parent-founded initiative which started informally in 2016 as a psycho-social support group to help families cope with the Autism diagnosis as well hand hold each other to find resources and support that families need however, the mandate eventually expanded to creating Autism awareness, advocacy and empowerment of families and those affected with ASD. In 2023, we formally registered as a company limited by guarantee and the process to register a non-profit organization is in the pipeline. AAFSO prides itself as a vibrant Autism community resource for families in Uganda. We are committed to making strides towards our long-term goal of establishing a parent-founded center dedicated to early intervention, educational needs of individuals with Autism catering to diverse abilities as a vocational facility.

We are committed to creating a world that we what to live in. Becoming a member would enable me to belong to a group of like-minded people with interests in bringing about social change in the different spheres of interest. We are interested in training, learning programs and funding opportunities from this membership. The learning could boost the advocacy, awareness activities to scale up the impact in our communities and beyond. Awareness activities would reduce stigma and discrimination.
