Bayan Family of Foundations

The Bayan Family of Foundations (BFF) is comprised of four subsidiary foundations: i) Bayan Academy for Social Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Development - Education and Training Programs; ii) Bayan Enterprise Developers, Growers and Evolvers (EDGE) - Impact Investing and Technology-based Micro Business Servicing; iii) Bayan Innovation Group (BIG) - Research and Development; and iv) Bayan Social Economy Action Research Foundation (SEARCH) - Community Development and Business Incubation As an ecosystem, BFF aims to uplift social enterprises and advance social impact projects. Through synergizing and unifying the impact services of its foundations, BFF creates end-to-end holistic solutions for social enterprises from inspiration to implementation. BFF and the Society of the Advancement of Professional Social Entrepreneurship (SAPSE) co-developed the National Social Enterprise Development Roadmap (SE Roadmap) in 2021 through an in-depth research and strategic planning of the SE sector. The SE Roadmap is the only sector-led and nationwide plan to develop SEs in the Philippines. Its purpose is to unify the ecosystem of stakeholders to grow the scope, size, and socio-environmental impact of the SE sector. To achieve this, the SE Roadmap institutionalized a governance system that would lead the nationwide implementation of the plan. The SE Roadmap Council was thus organized over the second half of 2022 and formalized during the 2023 Philippine Social Entrepreneurship Summit in February 2023. The SE Roadmap Council is composed of sector representatives from the five SE Roadmap’s subsectors (cooperatives, NGOs, MSMEs and people’s associations, corporations, and academic institutions) and the four major area clusters of the Philippines (North Luzon, NCR and South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao). BFF and SAPSE serve as the co-secretariat of the SE Roadmap Council.
