COMFORT CENTRE FOR CHILD ADVOCACY, RESPONSE AND EMPOWERMENT

COMFORT CENTRE FOR CHILD ADVOCACY, RESPONSE AND EMPOWERMENT was founded in the year 2019 (fully registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission). The quest to share knowledge on Human rights, as a result of the rise in Sexual Abuse of children and the dangers posed by the lack of awareness, gave rise to the KIDS AWARE , KIDS SAFE project, which focuses on mass sensitization of Nigerian students in the primary and secondary school, covering the ages of 2 – 18 years old. So far COMFORT CENTRE FOR CHILD ADVOCACY, RESPONSE AND EMPOWERMENT has covered and sensitized over 3000 students in Benue State for free. They have also held seminars sensitizing over 1000 parents and school staff, on the prevention of sexual abuse. All of these are done without any financial requests from the recipients and It has become a huge success. The organisation through its founder, wrote a book titled: MY BODY SAFETY GUIDE FOR KIDS AND TEENS, and they are freely distributed every year, May 27 (CHILDREN'S DAY). This year, 2023, we distributed 1000 copies of the books for free to children, exceeding by far our previous reach and target. Comfort Centre is also keen in the pursuit if peace keeping and the prevention of trafficking, especialy relating to Internally Displaced Children hosted in Refgee camps in Benue State. Therefore we also hold free distribution of humanitarian aids and WASH materials to the IDP`s, as well as sensitization programs for the IDP`s and the host community
