Da Hawwa Lur

Da Hawwa Lur (meaning "the Eve’s Daughter" in Pashto) is a feminist, women-led organization based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan, that envisions a just, inclusive, and peaceful society where women, girls, transgender, and gender-diverse people can exercise their rights fully and freely. Established in response to the multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination faced by women and marginalized communities in conflict-affected and patriarchal settings, Da Hawwa Lur serves as a powerful platform for collective action, healing, and resistance. Our mission is to amplify the voices of women and transgender communities from underserved regions of Pakistan through feminist organizing, political education, advocacy, and transformative community-centered programs. We work to dismantle gender-based violence, challenge structural inequalities, and promote the leadership of marginalized groups in public, political, and digital spaces. Da Hawwa Lur’s work spans across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We operate through a feminist framework that centers healing, safety, and self-determination. Our programs combine legal and psychosocial support, community interventions, policy advocacy and feminist movement building. Over the years, we have led groundbreaking initiatives, including: - Gender Justice and Rights - Building Inclusive Governance Structures - SRHR Movement Building - Improving Girls Secondary Education Our vision is to create an ecosystem where feminist values guide policymaking, resource distribution, and community development ensuring that every individual, regardless of gender identity, has access to dignity, safety, and opportunities to thrive. We aspire to bridge the gap between grassroots experiences and policy-level change by investing in political literacy, movement building, and solidarity networks among women and gender-diverse communities. Our work is rooted in values of care, intersectionality, equity, and transformative justice. As a feminist organization, we remain accountable to the communities we serve, and we believe in reclaiming spaces whether on the streets, in policy rooms, or online through feminist joy, resistance, and movement building.

The motivation is to learn from the global parctitioners in the development sector on the best strategies and inititiaves that worked well for them in terms of gender equality and inclusion, while sharing our experiences and initiatives at the community level. Another key goal is to take the local initiatives and make them global towards a strengthened movement for gender equality and rights.
