EmpoderaClima

EmpoderaClima is a Brazil-based, youth-led multilingual organization that raises awareness of the disproportionate impacts of climate change that girls and women face in Latin America and the Caribbean and empowers youth in the Global South to adopt a gender lens in climate change impacts and solutions, through multilingual educational tools, and provide opportunities to advocate for a more sustainable, equitable and just future. Our work is focused on two main pillars: A multilingual database (content available in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French), with original and curated content on gender and climate justice, aimed at those who lack access to such materials in their native languages, especially in Latin America. Additionally, we lead global and national advocacy for gender-just climate action by partnering with climate organizations worldwide, participating in high-level events - advocating for more gender diversity in these climate-decision spaces, and conducting climate education projects in Brazil and internationally.

At EmpoderaClima, we believe the climate crisis must be addressed through feminist, intersectional, and locally grounded approaches. Our motivation to join the Catalyst Now community stems from our commitment to amplifying the voices of women and marginalized groups in climate decision-making. We hope to contribute by sharing grassroots knowledge, co-creating solutions, and bringing the lived experiences of Latin American youth into global conversations.
