GenDigital Academy

GenDigital Academy is a digital literacy advocating organization aiming to equip Southeast Asian underprivileged youth (currently 6270+ students) to be equipped with necessary digital skills and to discover the frontiers of technology in this digital era. GenDigital started locally with four tablets and six mentors tutoring underserved students in coding and digital security, but have grown to teach a plethora of digital skills for more than 6000 children in 20 cities, including breaking the national (MURI) record for the largest digital literacy teaching session in a day. While representing Indonesia in last year’s ASEAN Youth Summit, we were also honored to extend our curriculum into neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Having taught relevant digital literacy skills to more than 6000 Southeast Asian children, I wish to continue sharing our curriculum and purpose to the Catalyst 2030 network, helping any partner teach digital literacy to their communities more easily and push intentional action for UN SDG #10 in Indonesia. After attending the Catalyst 2030 monthly as a Global Shaper in Jakarta, Tommy from Greenhope encouraged me to apply as there were many avenues of collaboration with Indonesia chapter members.
