Humanity Horizons, through the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) in Uganda, aims to empower young people to overcome barriers and contribute to their communities. Objective 1: Equip Youth with Critical Skills and Foster Economic Empowerment. This objective integrates climate change education, social entrepreneurship, and leadership development into school curriculums and community programs. It aims to create Climate Action Hubs and technology centers for workshops and mentorship, while enhancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), mental health, and nutrition through comprehensive campaigns. Objective 2: Strengthen Community Resilience, Environmental Stewardship, and Technological Innovation. This objective introduces sustainable agricultural practices and food security projects, conducts disaster response training, and develops emergency plans to encourage civic engagement. It also establishes innovation hubs, promotes digital literacy and hackathons, and supports youth-led sustainable farming and policy advocacy. Key Program Components: Sustainable Climate and Health Leadership Development: This component empowers youth to tackle climate challenges and lead eco-friendly enterprises through skills in climate resilience, eco-entrepreneurship, and leadership. Sustainable Economic Empowerment and Digital Skills Advancement: This component focuses on empowering youth, women, and marginalized communities by addressing poverty, creating decent jobs, ensuring food security, and enhancing livelihoods through vocational training, microfinance skills, youth incubation hubs, digital literacy, and agricultural innovation.
