Independent (Aldo Valencia)

I am a social impact leader and strategist working at the intersection of education, youth leadership, and systems change in Latin America. Over the past 24 years, my work has focused on expanding opportunities for children and young people and strengthening the organizations and partnerships that make those opportunities possible. I am the founding CEO of Aprendo+, an early childhood initiative focused on supporting families and caregivers to strengthen foundational learning and development in the first years of life. Through Aprendo+, we seek to expand access to practical tools and evidence-based approaches that help parents and educators nurture children’s cognitive and socioemotional growth. Alongside this role, I am part of Leer No Basta, a civic initiative in Peru that advocates for stronger reading comprehension as a national priority and promotes collective action across civil society, education actors, and the private sector. Previously, I held leadership and advisory roles across the nonprofit and social innovation sector, including with Teach For All and Enseña Perú, where I worked to mobilize cross-sector partnerships and support initiatives aimed at improving educational equity. My mission is to help build ecosystems where talent, opportunity, and purpose align so that more young people can become leaders who contribute to a more just, inclusive, and thriving society. My vision is a Latin America where every child and young person can fully develop their potential and lead positive change in their communities.

I am motivated to join Catalyst Now because I believe that the most meaningful social change happens when leaders and organizations work collectively to address the root causes of inequality. Throughout my career in education and social innovation in Latin America, I have seen how isolated efforts rarely shift systems, while aligned ecosystems of actors can unlock transformational change.
