Independent (Danielle Bates)

I am an oceanographer by training, and have a background leading and supporting research related to marine fisheries and marine spatial use. More recently, I was the Chief Science Officer at Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute, working on SDGs related to Life Underwater and Zero Hunger through our work supporting sustainable seafood and ocean health. My interests center around finding science based solutions for humans and nature to coexist sustainably now, and for future generations.

I was referred to Catalyst Now by a member who recommended the group as a way for me to connect with like-minded individuals working to do good in this world. I am passionate abou the environment and the people who depend on it, and I'm hoping to contribute my scientific background and passion for sutainability and conservation to the group. I'm hoping to learn from the group, and explore creative ways that I can participate in meaningful change and progress towards the SDG's in my lifetime.
