Independent (Joel Manuel)

I am Joel Armando Manuel, a final-year Medical Student at Jean Piaget University of Angola, a Google-certified UX Designer, and an emerging social entrepreneur. My mission is to leverage education, health, and technology as drivers of social transformation, improving opportunities for individuals and communities in Angola and beyond. As the Founder of Yetu Edu, I lead the development of a social-learning platform designed to connect students, educators, and professionals in an inclusive digital ecosystem. Yetu Edu combines localized academic content, AI-driven personalized learning, professional networking, and mentorship opportunities. Our vision is to become Africa’s leading educational network by 2030, reducing inequalities in access to knowledge, empowering youth, and fostering career development across the continent. Through strategic partnerships with universities, companies, and international organizations, we aim to create a sustainable platform that nurtures innovation, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning. In addition, I serve as the President of the Academic League of Public Health and Epidemiology (LASPE), where I coordinate research, outreach projects, and educational initiatives focused on disease prevention and strengthening public health systems. This role has allowed me to promote evidence-based action, mobilize students in health advocacy, and build bridges between academia and communities. My professional journey combines medical training, public health research, UX design expertise, and leadership in innovation. I have contributed to academic projects on maternal mortality, child malnutrition, infectious diseases, and digital health, while also building design systems, user-centered products, and startup initiatives. I strongly believe that the integration of healthcare, education, and digital innovation is the key to sustainable development. Looking ahead, my vision is to position Angola as a hub of talent, knowledge, and innovation in Africa, by creating opportunities for young professionals, advancing inclusive education, and supporting public health systems. I aspire to build bridges between Africa and the world, guided by the values of empathy, equity, and innovation.

As a medical student, UX designer, and founder of Yetu Edu, I am committed to contributing my skills and experience at the intersection of health, education, and technology. Through my leadership roles — including serving as President of LASPE (Academic League of Public Health and Epidemiology) — I have coordinated research, outreach campaigns, and digital initiatives that have reached thousands of young people and communities in Angola. I hope to bring this same spirit of collaboration and inn
