Independent( Katharina Serafimova)
I am a Systemic Impact Architect, Social Entrepreneur, and Educator with over two decades of leadership experience from global financial reform to regenerative agriculture. My work focuses on building heartware, the invisible infrastructure of cooperation that enables communities to thrive. I design digital and social layers that ensure technology becomes a scaffold for human relationships and ecological stewardship. By transforming high-anxiety, competitive systems into living ecosystems of shared responsibility, I help bridge the systemic disconnection embedded in our current economic and social models.
My current mission centers on Sharyoo, a social enterprise scaling participatory learning by providing the digital community layer for schools. Sharyoo transforms educational environments by moving the coordination of real-world projects — from school gardens to peer support — out of a teacher’s private workload and into a shared space where students act as active partners. Early pilots show that this structural shift increases student engagement and reduces bullying by providing spaces where empathy, responsibility, and mutual care are the drivers of collaboration rather than compliance. We are now expanding into vulnerable schools in Brazil through an academic study on social cohesion, aiming to prove that technology can be a primary driver of local solidarity and collective agency.
My broader vision is to foster a future where our economic and social structures prioritize liveliness and collective resilience over extractive growth. This vision is informed by diverse leadership roles across sectors. As a co-founder of Terra Sintropica, I work to reverse desertification through Syntropic Farming, restoring ecological productivity while strengthening community food systems. Through the Initiative Lebendiger Bodensee, I build shared networks for soil health and water protection across landscapes that have suffered ecological degradation from industrial practice. In academia, I have spent more than a decade training financial leaders at the University of Zurich, integrating regenerative principles and environmental sustainability into financial market theory and practice.
Previously, I led global negotiations for WWF Switzerland with the G20, the Bank for International Settlements, and the United Nations Environment Programme Inquiry, advocating for financial market regulations that respect planetary boundaries and long-term wellbeing. I also lead platforms such as Haim Tov, enabling resource exchange without money and proving that non-extractive digital design can regenerate social ties and local solidarity.
My commitment is to bridge the gap between academic research and field-tested regenerative practices. I work at the intersection where deep systems change is not only theorized but applied, tested, and scaled in real communities. What motivates me most is enabling others to become regenerative designers of their own worlds — shifting power dynamics, transforming mindsets, and creating ecosystems of mutual thriving.
Within the Catalyst movement, I seek to collaborate with fellow innovators to co-create frameworks that align financial, educational, and ecological structures with the intelligence of nature itself. I believe that by realigning global systems around reciprocity, relational accountability, and life-affirming economies, we can create a world that sustains both people and the planet.
