Independent (Mahbub Shobhanee)

The Chair of SIG-IEP, serving a one-year term from November 1 to October 31, leads the group by presiding over all meetings, appointing non-elected officers and the Nominating Committee, developing and submitting the annual report to ASIS&T Central, managing the annual budget if no Treasurer is appointed, and maintaining records of activities in iConnect. The Chair presents an activity report at the ASIS&T Annual Meeting's SIG business session and represents the SIG at SIG Cabinet meetings, appointing substitutes when necessary while notifying the Cabinet Director. Additionally, the Chair manages SIG affairs under the bylaws, including fund expenditures, and handles officer vacancies per specified succession rules, such as the Chair-elect assuming the role if needed.
