Independent (Mauricio Costa)

Industrial engineer by training, educator and traveler by conviction. I have visited more than 12 countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas — spending time in schools, learning from communities, and understanding how different cultures build their education systems. That global perspective feeds deeply local work: in Peru, I have accompanied teachers, school leaders, authorities and communities to transform education from within. I contributed to developing the national systemic change strategy at Enseña Perú and co-created with the DRE Áncash the measurement unit URMECEA, reaching more than 300,000 students. Today I lead Futuros Brillantes, a Practical Action project supporting schools in border communities, and facilitate the systemic leadership course at Teach For All's Global Academy. I am driven by the conviction that sustainable educational change is not built by a single organization, but by networks of leaders who know each other, trust each other, and act together. Consultant in systemic change, adaptive leadership and collective impact. When I'm not doing that, I play chess and write.

I learned about Catalyst Now through Franco Mosso, who is leading the Peru chapter. I'd love to contribute from my experience in systemic change and education — brainstorming, collaborating, and adding value to others' projects. What I'm looking to receive is a community of people across generations who are committed to taking action and building sustainable change in Peru.
