Independent (Nicholas Sekpey)

My name is Nicholas Selardi Sekpey, born in Tema, Ghana and I am Renewable Energy lead at the Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities (AERC) in Ghana. I am passionate about advancing renewable energy access, carbon accounting, and climate resilience in rural and underserved communities. My work centers on accelerating the transition to decentralized renewable energy solutions, particularly in rural Ghana where access to reliable, affordable, and clean energy remains limited. At AERC, I support the development of community projects in areas such as clean cooking, youth-led climate action, and energy mapping to identify local needs and guide investment decisions.

 Tema

My motivation for joining Catalyst comes from my desire to deepen my impact as a youth leader working at the intersection of renewable energy, climate resilience, and community empowerment. I believe that meaningful climate action requires collaboration, shared learning, and a community of people who are committed to fairness, inclusion, and real transformation. Catalyst represents exactly that kind of space.
