Independent (Otis Kollie)

I am an experienced grant management and program development professional, currently serving as the Senior Program Officer/Consultant at Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa (GPFA), a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering young people, particularly women and girls, through education, leadership development, and peacebuilding initiatives. My work at GPFA involves overseeing key programs aimed at providing educational opportunities for underprivileged students, facilitating internships and employment placements, and strengthening the capacity of our scholars through mentorship and skills-building initiatives. With over a decade of experience in grant management, project coordination, and partnership development, I have worked across Africa and Asia in various capacities, including as a Program Specialist for Africa and Asia at the Global Fund for Children. I have developed deep expertise in managing diverse portfolios, from disbursing grants to grassroots organizations to designing and implementing capacity-building programs that align with organizational goals and donor requirements. I hold a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Private Sector Management from Cuttington University and I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Throughout my career, I have focused on advancing sustainable development, education, and social justice through partnerships and grants that deliver tangible, positive impact for communities. In addition to my professional work, I am currently engaged in various projects that foster inclusive prosperity and promote peacebuilding efforts in Liberia, such as the Mastercard-funded EPAD II Gathering of Scholars, which aims to uplift the next generation of African leaders. I am passionate about creating transformative change through collaborative partnerships, innovative project design, and effective grant management.

I am motivated to join the Catalyst 2030 community because I deeply resonate with its mission to drive systemic change through collaborative, people-centered social innovation. As someone with a background in grant management and project development across Africa and Asia, I have witnessed the limitations of traditional approaches in addressing social and environmental challenges.
