Iswar Sankalpa

Iswar Sankalpa is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2007 in Kolkata, West Bengal. It works at the intersection of homelessness, (psychosocial)disability, poverty…for the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with psychosocial disability (primarily the urban adult homeless and slum-based population) – their right to health services, right to comprehensive habilitation/rehabilitation, their right to employment, their right to housing and their right to access to government facilities, entitlements and other benefits by setting up a continuum of care and support. It is striving to build a model of inclusive care for the most vulnerable and least legally protected population, by mobilizing the support of key stakeholders: government, families of the target group, community, law enforcement agency, medical body, civil society and media.
