Krishi Shwapno (KS)

Growing up in a farming family, I witnessed the struggles of small farmers—unfair pricing, post-harvest losses, and climate challenges. Despite agriculture employing nearly half of Bangladesh’s workforce, young people hesitate to enter due to low profitability. I founded Krishi Shwapno in 2019 to transform agriculture into a sustainable, data-driven agribusiness, ensuring fair prices for farmers and safe food for consumers. Krishi Shwapno is Bangladesh’s first blockchain-powered, circular economy-based agri-supply chain platform. We have connected 21,000+ farmers across 100+ villages with 50+ bulk trading marketplaces and 30+ logistics partners, ensuring direct market access. Our data-driven model has increased farmers’ incomes by 10%-15%, while our circular economy approach repurposes damaged crops into compost and livestock feed, minimizing losses. Our Farmer’s Digital Dashboard hosts data on 10,000+ farmers, optimizing production and market linkages. In climate-vulnerable coastal areas, we trained 5,000+ youth farmers (50% women) in sustainable mung bean and lentil farming, increasing their earnings by 15.38%. In flood-prone regions, our Youth-led Agricultural Service Provider (YASP) project equips 8,200 farmers (60% women) with innovative farming technology, trains 3,200 farmers in agribusiness, and creates 100+ jobs and 50+ small businesses. These trainings are conducted through Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to foster peer learning. Our e-learning app, Ghasforing, has benefited 1,000+ farmers and agriculture students with climate-smart practices and agribusiness knowledge. At Krishi Shwapno, we are building a resilient agricultural ecosystem—ensuring prosperity for farmers, sustainability for the environment, and security for future generations.
