Moments with the Kween Community Initiative (MWTK)

Moments With The Kween Community (MWTK) is a youth-focused leadership and character development organization committed to raising a generation of values-driven leaders equipped to influence their families, communities, and society with integrity, excellence, and purpose. Founded in 2019, MWTK began as a podcast created to spark meaningful conversations around leadership, personal growth, purpose, and transformation. Over time, what started as a platform for dialogue evolved into a thriving community and registered nonprofit organization dedicated to developing young people beyond academic achievement and professional success. At its core, MWTK believes that sustainable societal change begins with transformed individuals, and that character is the foundation upon which lasting leadership is built. Our work is driven by the conviction that young people need more than information—they need guidance, mentorship, practical experiences, and supportive communities that help them become the best versions of themselves. Through carefully designed programs and interventions, MWTK creates spaces where young people can learn, reflect, grow, and apply life-changing principles to real-world situations. One of our flagship initiatives is the Character Development Programme (CDP), which equips secondary school students with practical values and life skills through engaging storytelling, facilitated discussions, reflective exercises, and interactive learning experiences. The programme is built around four core values -Respect, Diligence, Resilience, and Integrity (RDRI) which serve as foundational pillars for personal development and responsible citizenship. Rather than relying solely on traditional lecture-based approaches, MWTK emphasizes participation, reflection, and application, ensuring that students are actively engaged in their own growth journey. Beyond schools, MWTK invests in emerging leaders through mentorship and leadership development initiatives such as the 'Life & Leadership Accelerator', a structured programme designed to help young professionals and aspiring leaders grow in self-awareness, leadership capacity, personal effectiveness, and purpose-driven living. Through group learning, one-on-one mentorship, and practical projects, participants are challenged to translate knowledge into action while building meaningful relationships with experienced mentors and peers. The organization also convenes transformational learning experiences, including leadership summits, community conversations, and collaborative projects that bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds to learn, connect, and contribute to positive change. These experiences are designed not only to inspire participants but also to equip them with the mindset, skills, and values required to lead effectively in an increasingly complex world. At MWTK, we recognize that true transformation is a journey, not an event. For this reason, our approach extends beyond one-time interventions to building communities of accountability, support, and continuous growth. We believe that when young people are given the right environment, tools, and guidance, they can become catalysts for positive change in every sphere of society. Today, Moments With The Kween Community continues to work towards its vision of raising a generation of transformational leaders;young men and women who are grounded in strong values, committed to excellence, and prepared to make meaningful contributions to their communities, nations, and the world. Through character development, mentorship, leadership training, and community engagement, MWTK is helping shape the leaders of tomorrow by investing in who they are becoming today.

I was drawn to Catalyst Now because I believe that creating lasting social change requires more than good intentions or isolated interventions. It requires people who are willing to understand the systems behind the problems we see, challenge existing ways of doing things, and collaborate to build solutions that can endure. As the founder of Moments with the Kween Community Initiative (MWTK), my work has always been driven by a deep desire to see young people discover purpose, develop character, build capacity and become agents of transformation in their communities. What began as a platform for young people has grown into a broader vision for creating environments where young people can be intentionally equipped to lead and contribute meaningfully to society. Over time, however, I have become increasingly aware that transforming individuals is only part of the equation. The environments, narratives, institutions, social norms and opportunities surrounding people also shape who they become and what they are able to contribute. This has pushed my work increasingly towards the intersection of youth development, behavioural change, storytelling, leadership and systems change. I applied to Catalyst Now because I wanted to be part of a community where I could learn from people approaching complex social challenges from different disciplines and contexts, particularly across the Global South. I was also excited by the possibility of contributing what I have learned through my own work while finding collaborators who can help me strengthen, test, evidence and scale the approaches I am developing. Ultimately, I want to be part of a community that is not satisfied with simply responding to social problems, but is committed to changing the conditions that allow those problems to persist. That is the kind of changemaker I want to become, and the kind of work I want MWTK and my broader body of work to contribute to.
