Health and Wellbeing Association Burundi (HeWe)
My name is Divin Niyomukiza, and I am a public health advocate, social entrepreneur, and community leader from Burundi. I founded Health and Wellbeing Association Burundi and Magazine Santé Burundi because I believe that access to reliable health information can transform lives and strengthen communities.
Growing up and working closely with communities, I witnessed how preventable illnesses, misinformation, and limited health awareness continue to affect people's lives. These experiences inspired me to dedicate my work to promoting health education, disease prevention, maternal and child health, nutrition, mental health, and overall wellbeing.
Through community outreach, health communication, and digital media, I strive to make health knowledge accessible to everyone, especially those who are often left behind. I am passionate about empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and creating spaces where communities can actively participate in improving their wellbeing.
My mission is to bridge gaps in health information and awareness while supporting healthier, more resilient communities. I believe that sustainable change happens when people are equipped with knowledge, empowered to act, and connected through collective efforts.
My vision is a Burundi where every person, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to live a healthy and dignified life. By fostering collaboration, innovation, and community-driven solutions, I hope to contribute to a future where health equity is not an aspiration but a reality for all.
As a Catalyst Now applicant, I am eager to connect with changemakers around the world, learn from diverse experiences, and contribute to collective action that advances the Sustainable Development Goals and creates lasting impact.
