Nthowa Livelihoods(NL)

Nthowa Livelihoods (NL) is a locally led non-profit organization established in 2022 and based in Mzimba, Malawi. We are committed to improving the livelihoods and resilience of rural communities through sustainable agriculture, climate-smart farming, financial inclusion, youth and women’s empowerment, and community-driven development. Our mission is to empower smallholder farmers, women, and youth with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to achieve sustainable livelihoods, improve food security, increase household incomes, and build resilience to climate change and economic shocks. Our vision is a prosperous, resilient, and self-reliant rural Malawi where communities have equitable access to opportunities, resources, and markets. We work closely with farming communities, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), government institutions, private sector actors, and development partners to promote inclusive and sustainable development. Since our establishment, we have directly supported more than 650 individuals and indirectly reached over 1,200 smallholder farmers through training, capacity strengthening, and livelihood improvement initiatives. Through collaboration, innovation, and local leadership, we contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities and advancing sustainable development outcomes in Malawi.
