PadMad

PadMad is focused on advancing Period Dignity. Our mission is to empower girls and women through sustainable, reusable, eco-friendly menstrual products, education, and economic opportunities, ensuring menstrual dignity, improving school attendance, and reducing environmental impact across communities in Kenya and beyond. Our work and impact contributes directly to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly around menstrual health and hygiene, Specifically, we tackle both health and environmental challenges by offering innovative, biodegradable, reusable menstrual products and comprehensive educational programs. Our work centres on Menstrual Health Management (MHM) and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), primarily in underserved communities across Kenya. We envision a nation where every woman and adolescent girl can thrive without the barriers imposed by period poverty, enabling them to stay in school, go to work, and participate in daily life with the confidence, dignity, and peace of mind they deserve. We operate a circular business model and as part of this, we employ marginalized (e.g. teen mums and ex incarcerated women/men) as part of our manufacturing process.
