Power for The People Africa Trust

PFP Africa Trust is a national non-governmental organization registered in Kenya, dedicated to partnering with marginalized communities to address multidimensional poverty through innovation and clean technology. Operating across Homa Bay, Narok, Kajiado, and Trans Nzoia counties, our work is grounded in sustainable development and guided by a place-based approach that responds to local needs and context. Our vision is to see healthy, educated, and skilled individuals building prosperous, sustainable communities. We believe that true transformation starts with empowering people—not by giving handouts, but through “handshakes” that foster ownership, dignity, and resilience. Our programs focus on the root causes of poverty, aiming to reduce aid dependency by building skills, supporting income generation, and creating access to essential services. PFP’s core focus areas include: 1) Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action 2) Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) 3) Education and Youth Empowerment 4) Livelihoods and Enterprise Development 5) Health Systems Strengthening 6) Menstrual and Sexual Reproductive Health (MSRH) Education At the heart of our work are five core values: Sustainability, Accountability, Innovation, Partnership, and Inclusion. These guide how we engage with communities, deliver programs, and grow our impact. We operate under three key principles: Handshakes, not handouts: We embed community participation and contribution in all our initiatives. Our programs are designed to increase household income, build resilience, and create jobs—ensuring sustainability even after project exit. Community collaboration and accountability: We foster mutual respect and inclusivity, ensuring all voices are heard and involved in the decision-making process. We believe in long-term engagement and collective ownership of results. Pilot, scale, and replicate: We start small—testing ideas in real contexts—then scale up what works. Successful models are shared widely to enable replication by others, multiplying the impact. Sustainability is central to everything we do. We aim for environmental, operational, and financial sustainability—ensuring that our work improves lives without harming the planet, runs efficiently and cost-effectively, and remains viable over time. Through community-rooted partnerships, PFP Africa Trust continues to deliver innovative, impactful, and scalable solutions that uplift lives and foster long-term change.

I aim to join the Catalyst 2030 Network to learn from and connect with like-minded organizations that are working with marginalized populations around the world. Being part of this network offers a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore best practices, and build lasting partnerships that can strengthen our collective impact. I'm also keen to engage with potential collaborators and supporters who are equally committed to driving inclusive, community-led, and sustainable change.
