Qwakhanda E Ntjha NPC (Non-Profit Organization)

Qwakanda E Ntjha NPC was established in 2020 in Qwa-Qwa, South Africa, in response to rising unemployment, food insecurity, environmental degradation, and the urgent need for a unified community-led development strategy. The organization was founded by Lehlohonolo Mabaso, a social entrepreneur and youth development leader, with a vision to build an economically independent, climate-resilient, and socially empowered Qwa-Qwa. Qwakanda began its work by mobilizing local residents around community clean-up campaigns, environmental awareness drives, and food security initiatives. Over the years, it expanded its scope to include climate-smart agriculture, youth leadership programmes, sports and education, entrepreneurship support, waste management, and rural economic development (RED) strategies. Since its founding, Qwakanda has partnered with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, and government stakeholders to strengthen rural livelihoods and promote sustainable development. The organization continues to grow as a leading community-driven force committed to transforming Qwa-Qwa into a model of rural resilience and economic opportunity.
