Richa Keshri (Independent)

I work at the intersection of artisans, materials, markets, and sustainable livelihoods. Over the past eight years, I have worked across India's handmade sector with artisan enterprises, producer groups, social enterprises, and ecosystem organizations, helping build pathways between traditional knowledge, supply chains, and contemporary markets. My work spans artisan sourcing, material documentation, traceability, market linkages, and ecosystem development. Through initiatives such as Handmade.World and Desi Oon, I have contributed to creating knowledge systems that make India's craft and material diversity more visible, accessible, and valuable to artisans, buyers, researchers, and institutions alike. I am particularly interested in how material knowledge, local production systems, and cultural heritage can be documented and translated into frameworks that support both livelihoods and sustainability. Whether I am mapping craft ecosystems, developing wool knowledge systems, supporting traceability projects, or working on market-linkage initiatives, my focus is on making complex artisan ecosystems easier to understand and engage with.

Through my work with artisan communities and handmade enterprises, I have seen how collaboration across sectors can create stronger livelihood opportunities and more resilient local economies. Joining Catalyst Now would allow me to learn from diverse social innovators, share insights from the handmade and craft ecosystem, and explore partnerships that can help scale impact for artisans and traditional crafts. I am particularly interested in contributing to conversations around economic inclusion
